'Sculptural Surprises' workshop with Alysn Midelow-Marsden. Sunday 12th November.

10am - 4pm

Alysn Midgelow-Marsden, an award winning Textile Artist, will be returning to the studio this autumn (all the way from New Zealand!) to run two fabulous one day workshops over a weekend.

(There is the option below to purchase a discounted place for BOTH workshop days.)

'Create a panel or small three dimensional sculpture, vessel, lamp cover, bag or wearable accessory using a combination of woven metals, Lutradur, burning techniques, machine appliqué and lots of beads and hand embellishments.

Transform metal fabric by clothing it in Lutradur which we will then burn away with soldering irons and heat guns, add interest and complexity to the surface with more stitch, beads and wires if you want to add another dimension.

This workshop achieves results more quickly if using a sewing machine for some of the time, however hand stitchers will also have no difficulty in creating a lovely, textured artwork.'

The workshop includes some materials, refreshments, and homemade cake.
Please bring along a packed lunch.

There is a fridge and microwave available at the studio.
